Our customer approached us due to an issue with their overdoor air heater. The heater was not functioning effectively because of inconsistent and unsuitable internal temperatures. Furthermore, the additional monitoring of internal temperatures that had to be conducted lead to an increase in energy consumption, a cost that the library wanted to reduce.
After a careful analysis and survey of the site, we proposed the removal of the existing overdoor heater due to its malfunctioning and the installation of our Comfortshield Air Barrier. This Air Barrier is designed to recirculate facility air across the doorway, preventing outside temperatures from entering during the colder months and keeping humidity from entering the facility during the warmer months. Therefore, the Comfortshield Air Barrier will allow the library to save money on energy costs year-round.
Following the proposal, we then removed the existing overdoor heater and prepared to install the Confortshield Air Barrier. To maintain a seamless appearance, we utilised brackets created by Confab Engineering to adjoin the door to the existing exterior. Finally, we reduced the speed of the air barrier and modified the controls, thereby softening the noise and tidying the installation.
Overall, the Comfortshield Air Barrier is providing an efficient barrier between internal and external conditions, reducing the customer’s energy costs as desired, and improving the environment within the library.
