The loading bay in the dry-goods area sits directly adjacent to the production space, meaning the internal doorway is in constant use. This made it difficult to maintain a stable temperature in the production area, as warm air transfer occurred each time the door opened. Even when the door closed, a temperature change had already taken place, affecting internal conditions.
Following a detailed site survey, we recommended installing an Enershield Ultrashield Air Barrier above the internal doorway. The unit includes an auto-actuator, activating only when the door opens, ensuring efficient operation in a high-traffic environment.
Post-installation analysis confirms the Air Barrier is successfully maintaining internal temperature conditions. With the door held open for five minutes, temperature variation was limited to just 7°C, demonstrating significantly improved environmental control. Although not the primary driver for the project, energy savings were also calculated, with an expected return on investment of approximately eighteen months.
Production staff have reported a noticeable improvement in temperature stability. In addition, flying insect ingress has been prevented, and the cleanliness of the area has improved, as the laminar airflow helps block dust and external debris.
